After successful completion of all course work (through the end of the third year) and completion of practicum training (two years with a minimum of 600 hours each year, totaling 1200 hours), students are eligible and required to complete a Clinical Review. This review is styled after the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) Diplomate exam. The Clinical Review is under the direction of the Director of Clinical Training. The Clinical Review is designed to measure the student’s overall competence in preparation to become a clinical psychologist, with an evaluation of the student’s ability to demonstrate their knowledge, skill and attitudes in the program objective areas of relationship, assessment, and intervention to a real clinical situation. Completion of the Clinical Review is a step toward establishing the student’s eligibility to apply for the internship.
A complete description of the Clinical Review is contained in the Psy.D. Student Handbook.
