Academic Residency Presentations: Library
staff members give dozens of course and academic residency presentations
throughout the year. If your course
includes a library or research component, we would be happy to provide a
custom-designed presentation. To
arrange a presentation, please contact the library.
• Help Center: The library Help Center includes an extensive
collection of research guides on finding scholarly resources, citations, search
strategies, and more.
• Ask a
Librarian (On-Demand Research Assistance): UI&U Librarians are available to assist both you and your
students. We can be reached via
phone, email, and live chat, and we also provide video conferencing with screen
• UI&U Library Research Guide:
Library Research Guide is a comprehensive, online self-tutorial about
researching and using the library.
The research guide consists of ten modules: 1) Using the UI&U
Library, 2) Identifying Sources, 3) Choosing a Topic, 4) Searching Basics,
5) Finding Books, 6) Finding Articles, 7) Evaluating Sources, 8) Citing
Sources, 9) Using Primary Sources, and 10) Research Strategy
Exercise. It serves as an
excellent course assignment.
