Dr. Tate holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a Master of Science in Health Planning and Administration from the University of Cincinnati. She earned her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Union Institute & University in 2006, specializing in the areas of health administration, education, and gerontology. Since 2000, Dr. Tate has served as the director of divisional diversity initiatives at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she develops and plans diversity programming for students and the campus community. Her role includes planning events that promote inclusion and contribute to the success and retention of multicultural students. She also serves on the boards of IV CHARIS, which provides HIV/AIDs education and testing in the Greater Cincinnati community, and Campus Ministries, an organization that helps Miami University students explore their spiritual and religious beliefs.
