Executive Assistant to the Dean/Faculty Advisor (Miami)
Angela Byles was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica and migrated to England at the age of six where she lived until the early part of her adulthood. She later migrated to Florida in 1984 where she has lived and work every since.
Angela holds the title of Executive Assistant to the Dean/Faculty Advisor. In this capacity she works very closely with the Dean in managing the daily activities of the Florida Academic Center. In addition, she is a faculty advisor, mentoring and guiding students toward the completion of their degree. Her position at UI&U allows her to share her journey as a learner with her advisees. During her tenure at UI&U she has served on various local and university wide committees, most recently the self study steering committee. She was an active member of the Union Institute & University alumni board from 1995 to 2000. She also teaches undergraduate courses in human resource management.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master of Arts from Union Institute & University.
Her hobbies include reading, interior decorating, and listening to jazz. Professor Byles has been married to her husband Lloyd for 22 years and has three children and three grand-grandchildren.
