Professor Stangle graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Long Beach, with a Master of Science in emergency services. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in fire administration/management and an Associate of Arts in fire science from Western Nevada Community College. He is also a graduate of the Daniel Freeman School for Paramedics (AMA accredited).
Professor Stangle is the Emergency Operations Manager for the city of Elk Grove, California. He was formerly an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for Sacramento County Public Health-Bioterrorism Unit as well as an Assistant Chief of the Sacramento County Public Health – Emergency Management Services Agency. Professor Stangle has held positions of Director of the Yakima County Department of EMS (Yakima, WA); Deputy Chief Fire Administration/EMS and Deputy Sheriff-Coroner (Douglas County, NV).
