Dr. Ellen Marshall is a former 12 year Delaware police veteran. As an officer, she was assigned to the Patrol Division, Special Operations Division, and the Criminal Investigations Division. Dr. Marshall holds certifications and has received specialized training as an Academy Instructor, Hostage Negotiator, Victim Services Specialist, Domestic Violence Specialist, Field Evidence Technician, Critical Incident Stress Management Trainer, Background Investigator, and Traumatic Stress Expert. She graduated top of her academy class in academic excellence.
Dr. Marshall holds a Ph.D. in psychology from the Union Institute & University, focusing on police psychology and traumatic stress in the emergency services. She has been nationally published in peer review journals, law enforcement journals and publications, and in a text. She has presented to local and national organizations such as the FBI National Academy and is continuing her research in Cumulative Career Traumatic Stress (CCTS). Dr. Marshall is currently writing a text on traumatic stress in law enforcement and developing a Reintegration Program for LE officers returning from military deployment. She is working on her third graduate degree in educational leadership and a certificate program in educational technologies. She also serves as a faculty member in the Criminal Justice Department for Delaware Technical & Community College.
