Jennifer earned her Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2009 and holds and a B.A. from Boston University. Her research interests are focused on gender and social policy, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights with particular emphasis on same-sex marriage and political participation. She also has an active research agenda examining gender, media, and technology, including newer projects exploring pregnant women's use of online forums. As a former Senior Research Associate at the Center for Social Policy at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, Dr. Raymond conducted research and program evaluation on homelessness and poverty. In addition to teaching Policy Analysis in the Ph.D. program at UI&U, she is a Visiting Lecturer in Sociology and Women's and Gender Studies at Bridgewater State University, Bridgewater, Massachusetts, where she also serves on the president's Task Force to End Homelessness and is a member of the Canadian Studies Council.
