Kim is a native of New York City, a former resident of Atlanta, Georgia and now a seven-year resident of Cincinnati, Ohio. Kim began her college education at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia and earned her Bachelor's Degree of Information Technology from a small Russian college in New York City, where she served as the Student President elected by her peers for four years.

Kim continued her education by earning a Master of Business Administration Degree in International Business from American InterContinental University Dunwoody Campus in Atlanta, Georgia. After being employed by American InterContinental University, Kim realized that her passion was to work with adult students and went on to pursue a Doctorate in Educational Leadership where her focus of study is student retention in postsecondary education.

Kim serves on the Steering Committee of the Alpha & Omega Contemporary Religious Arts Project, Chairperson of the Alpha & Omega Art Fair 2011 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Stage Manager/Production Assistant for the Cincinnati Black Theatre Company.
