Professor Chapman is a graduate of The University of California, Berkeley, where he received his Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Science degrees. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College, Williamstown, Mass. Mr. Chapman has been associated with the Union Institute and University as an Adjunct Professor at the Sacramento Center since 1988. His area of expertise is Business and Organizational Management. He currently teaches courses at UI&U in:

Mr. Chapman has been a part-time Faculty Advisor at the Sacramento Center since June, 2002. He is currently the Area Coordinator for Business/Public Administration at Sacramento. Professor Chapman is currently the Chair of the University's Retention Advisory Committee and the Presiding Officer of the College of Undergraduate Study's Steering Committee.

For the past fifteen years, Mr. Leonard W. Chapman has been President and Chief Consultant of ORGANIZATIONAL Architect And Associates, a firm based in Auburn, CA. He has been providing consulting, training, and hands-on process improvement services to private and public organizations interested in operational excellence.

Prior to that, Mr. Chapman worked for twenty-five years in various leadership positions, worldwide, with Procter & Gamble. His responsibilities were in manufacturing and corporate operations.

Mr. Chapman is a retired U.S.Navy Captain, with 28 years of active and inactive duty, including two ship commands and one shore command.
