Part-Time Faculty, Chair of Public Policy and Social Change

Mary Ann E. Steger received her Ph.D. in Political Science in 1978 from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and she has been teaching since that time at the following universities: Marquette University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Oakland University (in Rochester, MI), Washington State University, and Northern Arizona University (NAU).

Currently, Dr. Steger is serving as the assistant to the dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at NAU, and is teaching for the Ph.D. program at Union Institute & University as an adjunct professor. Her teaching areas include public policy, policy analysis, public administration, and political inquiry, and her research interests focus on social welfare policy in general and welfare reform in particular.
