Mathew Chacko's specialties include Creative Writing (Fiction) and Post-Colonial Studies. His work has appeared in the Kenyon Review, Missouri Review, Chicago Review, Stories, Puerto del Sol and other magazines. He is the recipient of fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA. Mathew held a tenured position at Denison University, Ohio, until 2005. He left to work at an International NGO in Washington D.C. His responsibilities there included facilitating training for staff and providing expertise on cross-cultural issues in the context of international development. He returned to full-time teaching in the fall of 2008, at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Mathew has degrees in Economics, History, Fine Arts, and Literature from Loyola College (Chennai), University of Texas-Austin, University of Alabama and University of Missouri-Columbia, respectively.
