Dr. Collado has a Ph.D. in psychology with a specialization in addiction studies from Union Institute & University. Her dissertation was entitled: Inner Work: A Journal Through the Soul: A Heuristic Inquiry. She has an M.S.W. from Barry University, and a B.A. in Psychology from Union Institute & University.
Dr. Nidia Collado is a psychotherapist with a specialty in addictions studies. She is also a certified addictions professional and educator with extensive experience working with multi-cultural and multi-ethnic populations.
She has a vast knowledge of holistic therapies and alternative disciplines and is a master hypnotherapist, Reiki master, second level Healing Tough practitioner, totem pole practitioner, and a certified NLP practitioner.
Based in Miami, Dr. Collado facilitates Inner Work spiritual workshops for individuals seeking a spiritual awakening by identifying inner resources and tapping into the inner power of their essence. She served as the clinical director for Miami-Dade Counseling Services, as a primary therapist, and as a case manager for several Miami-area social service organizations.
Currently, Dr. Collado serves as a professor and faculty advisor at UI&U's Florida Academic Center. She is also the former chair of the center's psychology department.
