Dr. Reginald Gardner is department chair for the Bachelor of Science Business degree programs at Union Institute & University. He is accountable for the Business Administration, Business Management, and Leadership degree programs. Prior to this role, Dr. Gardner was chair of the graduate and undergraduate programs in the John Sperling School of Business at University of Phoenix (Columbus, OH campus).
For over 25 years, Dr. Gardner has served as a senior executive in Fortune 100 companies in the retail, insurance, and oil industries – primarily in information technology. He has implemented multimillion dollar technology applications; managed multimillion dollar offshore and international technical services; and negotiated a 10-year, $1.2 billion service level agreement.
Dr. Gardner earned his doctoral degree in Management & Organizational Leadership from University of Phoenix, and is certified in Organizational Leadership from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. His doctoral research consists of a qualitative study with a phenomenological research design on the Criteria for Chief Executive Officer Selection in U.S. for-profit firms. He has authored a book on Corporate Leadership Selection. He has also presented his research in national and international leadership conferences which include: International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation, Regent University Transformational Leadership Conference, and University of Riverside Global Management Conference.
