Rick Chaffee has Master's degree in Economics from the University of Denver and a Ph.D. in Applied Social Sciences from Union Institute & University.
While at the University of Denver he competed for the US on two Olympic Teams in Alpine Skiing including Grenoble, France and Sapporo, Japan. After retiring from ski racing he taught as an Associate Professor of Social Sciences at Johnson State College in Vermont and helped in the development of the Green Mountain Valley School, a successful ski racing academy that has produced many Olympic athletes. Later he worked in industry conducting both domestic and international training for Marathon Oil Company and functioned as a senior manager for the Catholic Diocese of Toledo.
Rick has a special interest in both leadership and diversity. He currently assists corporate employees and National Guard soldiers with degree completion in northern Vermont where he works as an adjunct instructor and a part-time advisor with Union Institute & University.
Rick has three children and lives with his wife, Judy, in Hinesburg, Vermont.
