B.S. - Education

Program Overview
Teaching is a profession that requires critical preparation.  The best teachers learn how to teach and then add their personal talents to the skills they have acquired. 

Teaching is also a profession that is regulated by the state.  The State of Florida sets specific education requirements for teachers.  Every college or university in Florida must offer courses that meet those requirements.  Union Institute & University is proud to have trained many of the fine teachers who now work in the state of Florida.

Four Education Majors

• Elementary Education (Grades K – 6)
• Secondary Education (Grades 6 – 12, with a concentration in English, Social Studies, Science, or Mathematics)
• Exceptional Student Education: Varying Exceptionalities (Grades K – 12, working with students who have special needs.)
• Physical Education (K-12)

Accelerated Degree Completion Options

• Earning 8 credits in 8 weeks
• Transferring credits from other regionally accredited colleges and universities
• Requesting credit for knowledge gained outside the classroom through work or professional experience
• Successfully completing CLEP or DANTES exams
• Participating in certified learning
