Ronald Hagan is a 23-year veteran with the Delaware State Police. He has held assignments in the communications section and patrol section. While on patrol, his assignments included a specialized DUI enforcement unit and a street level drug interdiction unit. He has also held assignments in the Criminal Investigation Unit, Special Investigations Unit, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Joint Narcotics Task Force.

In 1991 Mr. Hagan was named Delaware 'Trooper of the Year.' He has also received the State Police Valor Award for heroic acts and the Superintendent's Citation for outstanding work. He currently holds the rank of captain and is assigned as the director of the planning and research section. He is the former commander of Conflict Management Team (CMT, Hostage Negotiations) and the current team leader for the divisions Critical Incident Stress Management Team.

Mr. Hagan holds a master's degree in human resource management from Wilmington College where he wrote his thesis on critical incident management in law enforcement. He also holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Wilmington College and is a graduate of Southern Police Institute's 93rd Administrative Officers School. Captain Hagan teaches undergraduate courses as an affiliated faculty member of Union Institute & University's Criminal Justice program, as well as teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of criminal justice, leadership, and communications at Wilmington College.
