Center for Workplace Advancement
We can provide courses at employer sites throughout the state of Vermont and in the Cincinnati, Ohio regional area to support career development and build employee skills.

General Studies

  • Current Courses - Each semester, UI&U offers a wide array of online college courses that are available for the non-degree seeking student. Check here for examples of current courses and contact us for more information.
  • Independent Studies - Need a course as prerequisite to enroll in a degree program, maintain a professional license, advance your career, or explore a personal interest? With the guidance of an experienced Union Institute & University faculty mentor, students have the option of custom designing an Independent Study for undergraduate or graduate academic credit. Throughout the study, students enjoy one-to-one interaction with their faculty mentor.

Health Services

  • Certificate in Health Education, proposed for fall of 2012. Expand your skills to better serve the community as a Health Educator, through graduate courses that follow the requirements for the nationally recognized credential, Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).

Mental Health Professionals

  • Expand your area of expertise and, for some fields, learn while achieving CE credits. Offerings include "Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy" for prevention of stress, depression and anxiety, and "The Role of Assessment in Evidence-Based Practice of Psychology" for practitioners and "Use of the Enneagram", an assessment tool that examines internal drivers of behaviors.

Non-Profit Professionals

  • On-ground offerings in Cincinnati for Non-Profit staff, executives and board members, including volunteer management courses.

For professional development associations and employer training programs, we can assess your courses for academic credit, working closely with you to determine if your programs meet rigorous, accreditation standards.
