Dr. Keehn earned an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Queens College, a Masters degree in School Psychology from Long Island University, and Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Counseling from Barry University. Prior to joining the faculty at Union Institute and University, Jay accumulated a variety of experiences in the education and counseling fields.
His career path included (but not limited to) starting a charter school, director of education of a preschool for medically fragile children, and supervisor for mental health counselors who intervened with families whose children are at risk of being removed from the home due to abuse or neglect. His areas of interest are strengthening teaching and learning practices via various delivery models, overall educational reform, and working with children to adjust after their parents divorce.
