Master of Education - Florida

Located in North Miami Beach, Union Institute & University’s Florida Center has been educating South Florida professionals for more than 18 years. Currently, more than 300 learners are enrolled in our degree programs. Because of Union’s flexible programs, learners earning their degrees from our Florida Center are able to return to school and still maintain their full-time careers.

The Master of Education degree program at Union Institute & University’s Florida Center provides an opportunity for career and personal advancement, while balancing work, familial, and personal commitments. Graduates with an M.Ed. from UI&U often accept positions as education administrators, higher education faculty members, and leaders of civic groups.

Union Institute & University’s M.Ed. Program utilizes a distributed learning model that combines directed study with face-to-face meetings, academic residencies, and online seminars. Seminars are equivalent to courses in the M.Ed. / Ed.S. programs. These programs are designed to present learning activities in an organized manner, with the work completed each term. Learners may take their directed study courses in a sequence that suits their personal goals.

To partially fulfill 36-45 semester credit hours required for graduation, learners participate in three residency events for a total of 9 credits. Additionally, each learner submits a capstone portfolio in his / her final semester for 3 credits. Each learner works collaboratively with the program director, faculty advisor, and adjunct faculty to develop an individualized curriculum of study and research in the selected area of specialization to fulfill the remaining 24 –33 credits of new learning.
