Professional Preparation Courses
for Teachers

With the completion of the following 3-credit hour courses (15 total hours), the Miami Academic Center of Union Institute & University offers a foundation that leads to the Professional Education Certification. Union Institute & University's curriculum in regards to this program fulfills the requirements set forth by the State of Florida Department of Education.

Schedule
Undergraduate and graduate courses are available for teachers employed by the Miami-Dade and Broward County Public Schools. Six "entry points" are offered per year, providing a flexible timeline for course work completion. 8 and 16 week sessions are available.

8-week Sessions

  • October 20 - December 13
  • January 5 - February 28
  • March 3 - April 25
  • May 4 - June 27
  • June 29 - August 22

16-week Sessions

  • January 5 - April 25
  • May 4 - August 22

Cost
A discounted rate of $900 per 3-credit course applies to both undergraduate and graduate sessions for MDCPS and BCPS teachers.
