Academic Preparation
Applications are accepted from those with bachelor’s or master’s degrees from accredited institutions. Most applicants have earned undergraduate or graduate degrees in psychology, social work, education, or other related professions, but this is not a requirement.
Applicants with a bachelor’s degree and with some graduate coursework can request to transfer up to 12 graduate credits from other accredited institutions. If accepted, those credits will count toward the 124 credits needed to graduate from the program.
Applicants with an earned master's degree in psychology or a closely related field can apply for Advanced Standing in the Psy.D. program and may be eligible to transfer up to 30 credit hours. These learners may be able to complete the program’s coursework at UI&U in less than four years of coursework. For further information, see our Course Transfer/Advanced Standing Policy.
Please note: Course transfer and Advanced Standing may be requested by petition only after the learner has been formally admitted to the program and prior to the beginning of the learner’s first term in the program.
Events & Conferences
We periodically host information sessions and attend conferences in the Northeast and Midwest. Updates will be posted on the Union Events calendar on the UI&U homepage. Or, phone us at 800.336.6794 ext.8408 for up-to-date information.
Please consider attending one of our annual or semi-annual open houses at either the Cincinnati Center or the Brattleboro Center in Vermont. Meet faculty and staff while enjoying light refreshments. For more information about future open houses, please contact us.
