Regalia
Once you have received official notification that you are eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony, you will be given access to the Herff Jones regalia ordering site.  Undergrads order ‘keepers’ rather than rentals (about $30). Masters graduates can rent cap, gown, hood, and doctoral candidates can either rent or purchase custom regalia once they have officially graduated.

You can still order announcements, rings, and frames on the Herff Jones site. Visit https://www1.herffjones.com/college/graduation/  and follow the prompts for Union Institute & University.

Doctoral commencers may want to purchase all or part of the custom regalia (view the regalia here -- scroll down to see the photo of the doctoral regalia). You can purchase the gown, hood, cap, tassel for a little over $1,000.00, but you can also order just the tam and tassel, or the hood, etc. for about $200-$300. You can do that in advance or at during the weekend. Our Herff Jones rep will also be in attendance during the weekend, so you can purchase a tam on Friday evening or even on Saturday morning prior to the procession line up. Many elect to do so, because the rental doctoral regalia comes with a flat mortar board.

Alumni in good standing can order custom regalia at any time. The order for full gown, hood, tam/tassel is about 8 weeks and the cost is about $1100. Contact event.coordinator@myunion.edu for information and to get in touch with the Herff Jones representative.
