BA Program Faculty in Education & Teacher Licensure

The BA Program Faculty in Education & Teacher Licensure is responsible for providing academic services through teaching and advising in adult distance and online options. As a specialist in education and teacher training, this position is responsible for supervision of learners in teacher licensure track.
The successful candidate will have a terminal academic or professional degree, elementary or secondary level teaching experience, knowledge of standards-based teaching and licensure process are required. Experience with adult pedagogy & knowledge of progressive education are preferred.

Director of Admissions - Vermont
Union Institute & University, a national university offering Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees to adult learners, is seeking a director of admissions for the Montpelier, VT Academic Center. The director will advance relationships with prospective learners leading to the enrollment of those who are qualified and demonstrate an ability to benefit from the University's unique programs. This position will be responsible for managing and motivating a team of Admission Counselors and an Administrative Assistant towards meeting and exceeding aggressive enrollment goals. S/he will conduct training, coaching and mentoring for new and existing staff members. The director plans, develops and leads an aggressive recruitment plan based upon a strategic enrollment management plan encompassing all university-wide bachelors, masters and doctoral programs. S/he will oversee the day to day operations and successful generation of inquiries, prospects, applicants and enrollees for B.A., M.A. and M.Ed. programs.
This position is responsible for providing daily, monthly, and quarterly admissions reports, budget projections, and recruitment metric achievements. The director assists with the development of marketing plans, publications and web strategies to inform and attract prospective learners. S/he designs, implements and coordinates special outreach programs utilizing direct mail and telemarketing strategies, collaborates with offices including Academic Affairs, Registrar, Financial Aid, and Business Office to maximize the University's ability to recruit and retain highly talented, highly qualified learners.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate recruitment and marketing experience in reaching enrollment goals as an admissions professional in a college or university office of admissions. Candidates must demonstrate excellent leadership skills as well as proven expertise in enrollment management issues, and have strong analytical and communication skills. Experience with MS Office applications and student data base systems such as Jenzabar, BANNER, or PeopleSoft are required. Must be organized and an effective time manager with strong attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision. A master's degree, minimum of five years experience in admission and enrollment management, and supervision experience are required.

Learner Services Coordinator – Miami, FL
Union Institute & University, a national university for adult learners offering programs of study leading to bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees is seeking a full time Learner Services Coordinator for the Miami, FL Center. This person will work closely with the faculty, staff & adult learners at the center and is the liaison to the registrar, financial aid & business offices in Cincinnati, OH. Ability to work in a team environment a must.
Excellent communication and people skills are required. Familiarity with adult education will be helpful as will as working with finances. Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, be proficient in Microsoft Office, have the ability to handle sensitive information, maintain a high level of confidentiality and have excellent customer service skills. Enrollment Counselor for MA Psychology and Counseling - Brattleboro, VT
Union Institute & University, a national university offering Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees to adult learners, is seeking an Enrollment Counselor at our campus in Brattleboro, VT. The Enrollment Counselor for MA psychology and counseling is responsible for conducting recruitment activities (phone, email, teleconference events) in support of University enrollment growth. In addition, the Enrollment Counselor is responsible for assisting in developing enrollment partnerships, managing major projects, and assisting in developing content for information sessions.
The candidate must have a Master’s Degree. Experience in recruitment and marketing preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and professional communication skills are required. Organization, attention to detail, flexibility and strong ability to multi-task are a must. Vice President for Enrollment Management - Cincinnati, OH

This is an opportunity to provide leadership to the recruitment and retention of undergraduate and graduate learners who will be able to take advantage of an engaged, empowered and enlightened academic environment. This position reports to the President and is responsible for providing leadership, expertise, and supervision to admission staff at multiple centers; using predictive modeling to shape the university’s strategic enrollment goals; offering creative approaches to increase enrollment; contributing to the development of the university’s integrated marketing program; and working with the President and senior staff to advance the mission and vision of Union Institute & University. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2010.
The successful candidate will possess a masters degree, doctoral preferred, with five years of successful experience in higher education enrollment management. The successful candidate should employ strong analytical skills to evaluate and use data in planning and allocating resources. The ability to motivate and lead staff in multiple programs and sites is required. The candidate should be familiar with target marketing strategies and be able to propose creative ways to use technology to recruit, admit, and retain learners. Must have excellent communication and leadership skills and be able to interact effectively with campus administration and community.

Faculty for Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program: Ethical and Creative Leadership
Union Institute & University, a national university for adult learners offering programs of study leading to bachelor’s, master's and doctoral degrees is seeking to fill a full-time faculty position in Ethical and Creative Leadership for its Ph.D. Program in Interdisciplinary Studies. This position requires a doctoral degree in a leadership related discipline with demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship as well as evidence of an active and productive research agenda and successful college teaching experience.
Union Institute & University’s doctoral programs are grounded in humanistic inquiry and incorporate developing interdisciplinary fields of study in ways that advance understanding of ethics, the creative process and the possibilities of institutional and social change. The cohort-based Ph.D. program in Interdisciplinary Studies utilizes a rich academic environment that combines a carefully designed curriculum of course work with opportunities for learners to develop their individual and specialized research interests.
The The Ph.D. Program in Interdisciplinary Studies is designed for working/professional adults and is offered in a low-residency format that combines face-to-face academic residencies with a variety of approaches (eCollege, interactive video seminar sessions, telephone conferences) to distance instruction. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary study, with a strong attentiveness to ethics and social justice, creativity, and diversity. The low-residency, distance format of the program does not require Cincinnati residence.
Ethical and Creative Leadership (ECL) is one of three areas of concentration within the program. It shares with its companion concentrations (Humanities and Culture and Public Policy and Social Change) a commitment to academic exploration that extends beyond traditional boundaries. This exploration defines the distinctive approach to the study of leadership. The ECL concentration strives toward new and alternative ways of understanding the study of leadership.
Responsibilities of the full-time faculty position include curriculum development and integration, teaching seminars, research, dissertation supervision and other program and university services. In addition, the position may serve as chair of the ECL concentration and, as such, would synchronize the work of the ECL faculty within the concentration around these tasks. Reports to the dean of the program who may assign additional responsibilities and committee work.
