Before coming Union Institute & University, Sharon worked as an admissions counselor for two years at a private university. One of her favorite experiences was counseling the prospective learner through the admissions process. While working as an admissions counselor, Sharon assisted the director of a Christian campus ministry Intervarsity Christian Fellowship.

When asked what it is that attracted her to UI&U, Sharon responded, "I believe in Union Institute & University's programs. I myself was an adult learner, attending college and working about thirty hours a week while pursuing a degree. Union Institute & University understands the adult learner. The adult learner needs the kind of flexible schedule that Union Institute & University offers."
