California State Grants

Cal Grants A and B

The Cal Grant A assists California residents with tuition and fees at public and independent colleges. The award covers up to tuition and fees and is based on financial need and academic merit. The Cal Grant B provides a living allowance and tuition and fee assistance for low-income students. Awards to freshman students are limited to an allowance for books and living expenses. When renewed or awarded after the freshman year, the award also helps pay for tuition and fees. More information regarding financial aid programs for the State of California is available on the Cal Grant Web site.
