In addition to our standard Transfer Credit Policy, Union Institute & University has extensive transfer credit and tuition agreements with universities, organizations, and institutions across the country. FAQs
Q: What is an articulation agreement?
A: An articulation agreement is a formal agreement between two or more institutions that matches coursework between schools. Union Institute & University has developed articulation agreements with both two-year colleges and post-secondary training institutions to allow learners to receive credit for previous coursework and job training.

Q: How do I know if I am eligible for an articulation agreement?
A: Each agreement has different eligibility requirements, which are listed below. All agreements apply only to students enrolled in an undergraduate program at UI&U. Eligibility is established by the Admissions office or program office.

Q: What if I am eligible for more than one agreement?
A: You may only receive the benefits from one articulation agreement.

*NOTE: Students being readmitted to Union will need to have made SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) during their original term at Union in order to be eligible for scholarship.

Adirondack Community College (NY)

Benefits

Scholarship of $31 per credit hour for the first 48 hours taken in up to four trimesters.

Requirements

An Associate of Arts or Associate of Science from Adirondack Community College.
Acceptance and enrollment into a Bachelors of Arts program at Union Institute & University.

Cincinnati Police Department

Benefits

Waived application fee.
100 percent scholarship to offset the tuition for the final four credit hours (provided the learner maintains continuous enrollment with UI&U, and a “C” or better in the courses taken in the final semester term of enrollment).
This agreement applies to current spouses of Cincinnati police officers.

Requirements

Successful completion/graduation from the Cincinnati Police Academy Officer Basic Training Program (including dates of attendance/completion) including successful completion of at least one year’s probationary experience.
Certification of successful completion of the Basic Training program of the Ohio Peace Officers Training Council.

Benefits

Scholarship of 10 percent of the tuition rate per credit on all credits earned at UI&U upon matriculation.
All other regular admissions policies shall be waived.

Requirements

A.A. degree in Education from FNC with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.
Grade of a “C” or better (on a 4.0 grade point scale) on course work.
A formal interview with a Faculty Adviser and a review of all program requirements. This will occur with a UI&U Faculty Representative the semester prior to the granting of the A.A. degree from FNC.

National Fraternal Order of Police University
Union Institute & University is one of the 10 members of the National Fraternal Order of Police University (FOPU) consortium of colleges and universities, which provides members of the National FOP with varied learning programs. The formation of FOPU allows FOP members the ability to take courses which will accommodate the unique necessities of a working law enforcement officer's schedule. Courses can be taken online to make it easier for members to obtain their degrees. All 10 participating colleges and universities are accredited institutions.

Benefits

10 percent tuition scholarship for undergraduate studies (5 percent for graduate studies) upon enrollment.
