The UI&U International Alumni/ae Association Board (IAAB) has ambitious plans to memorialize Union’s
45th Anniversary with an Alumnae/i ReUnion memorial book that highlights the accomplishments of the alumni/ae in achieving Union’s Mission of Social Relevance. Submission guidelines follow. As you write your 450 words, the IAAB President, Dr. Steven Swerdfeger, advises you to keep in mind the words of Mark Twain, “The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.” All submissions are subject to editing by the editor.
Submission Guidelines
Specific protocols on word length and submission standards are: Personal statements can be no more than 450 words (10 words for every year that Union has been educating learners), which will be a challenge for most of us, since we Union types tend to be verbose. The challenge, then, will be to find the very best 450 words that poignantly describe the rigors and satisfactions of your Union journey and how it equipped you to new vistas of leadership and service. It is hoped that graduates from every year will participate and contribute to this book. For additional information or questions, or to receive a few sample writings from the published Interim Edition, please contact the Alumni Relations office at alumni@myunion.edu.
Submission Date
