Alumni Chapters

The Union Institute & University International Alumni Association’s chapter program is in the process of being formed in order to gather UI&U alumni and friends in their local communities to show support for the university. Chapter activities will vary from social to academic events.

Our chapters will work with the UI&U International Alumni Association to strengthen pride in the university and identify ways to assist Union in the achievement of its goals.

Here are some ways our chapters may choose to promote the mission of the UI&U International Alumni Association and advance the Union Institute & University vision:

• Recruit students for admission
• Welcome new alumni and students to the local community
• Develop a support system to advocate learning and aid student retention
• Sponsor educational programs for the local community
• Encourage fellowship among alumni, family, and friends of Union Institute & University
• Increase public awareness of Union Institute & University through the local media
• Help the university maintain updated contact information for alumni and friends

Terms
A chapter is a group of alumni and friends who share interest in Union Institute & and/or a similar profession, culture, geographic location, or special interest and who meet other UI&U alums living in their area. The purpose of a chapter is to reconnect alumni to UI&U and to other alumni chapter members. Chapters can be as active or innovative as the membership desires.

An affinity group is a group of people who share a common interest, background, or goal. The UI&U International Alumni Association and its affinity groups all share in the common interest of building alumni relationships and bringing together former UI&U students.
