- Be familiar with all requirements and expectations of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC)*
- Be familiar with the five criteria and 21 components
- Adhere to the outcome and process goals of the self-study
- Coordinate activities and oversee all phases of the self-study
- Participate in drafting, reviewing, and submitting the self-study plan
- Review examples of assigned criterion from other self-study reports
(SS coordinator will provide 3 examples)
- Chair or co-chair a subcommittee
- Conduct criterion subcommittee meetings and provide support
including resource material, help with institutional research, and
guidance on selecting & presenting data
- Maintain ongoing contact with the Director of Institutional Research
- Provide materials for a resource room of data and documents
- Provide the writer with material for criterion chapters
- Review and comment on self-study report draft
- Assist in the coordination of the evaluation team visit
