Institutional Research

Union Institute & University’s Office of Institutional Research within the Office for Institutional Effectiveness, is responsible for gathering, organizing, analyzing, and reporting on a broad range of decision information in support of institutional accreditation, state licensure, and strategic planning. The office also responds to requests for data from other external organizations, such as college guides.

  • Prepares required reports to the U.S. Department of Education via the Institutional Postsecondary Educational System (IPEDS). Learn more about IPEDS.
  • Prepares required reports to The Higher Learning Commission and the states that authorize Union Institute & University.
  • Compiles a range of data about the university, important to external organizations, potential learners, and members of the UI&U community, including consumer information data required by the U.S. Department of Education. Click for comprehensive institutional data.

  • Assists programs and departments with design of e-surveys, coordinating survey invitations, and analyzing and reporting on results.

E-survey Protocol

In late 2007, Union Institute & University centralized use of electronic surveys within the Office for Institutional Research (OIR), which (1) provides support for developing surveys (paper or electronic) and (2) administers all e-survey projects using Zoomerang™ online survey service for which the university has contracted.
